VANRATH & Ulster Society Young Professionals Group: Ginspiration October 2017

Last night, VANRATH Accountancy and the Ulster Society Young Professionals Group came together for Ginspiration, another successful brand event for newly qualified accountants, and those in the early stages of their accountancy careers.
With two thought-provoking talks from Caroline Wilson, creator of Taste and Tour NI, and Gerry White, Owner of the legendary Jawbox Gin, attendees couldn’t have asked for a more engaging evening. These admirable entrepreneurs provided some honest and colourful insights into their respective journeys as business owners, and even had some useful advice to offer the budding Accountants in the room.
The most important take home lesson from the evening? Steer clear from honeycomb in your Jawbox Gin; it might be the latest craze, but Gerry insists that ginger ale with a dash of lime is the good old-fashioned way to go, and the way he originally intended the tipple to be enjoyed.
The gin tasting session courtesy of Jawbox Gin was the perfect way to test Gerry's theory, and needless to say, his suggestion went down a treat. This was just one of the many delights on offer at yesterday evening's event; as the newly qualified Accountants walked through the door, they were greeted by a VANRATH retro sweet stall with an unlimited supply of goodie bags. These were the perfect sweet treats to follow a delicious curry courtesy of Hadskis, which were gratefully received to quieten some post-work rumbling tummies. To end the night with a bang, VANRATH's consultants raffled off a meal for two at The Muddlers Club: we are grateful to all those who donated, helping raise a handsome amount which will be given to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, VANRATH's nominated charity.
We’d like to say thank you to everyone who attended the event; with a full house it was a remarkable turnout and a consummate success.
