About your next employer

As a member of the council's Corporate Management Team, contribute proactively to the collective leadership for the council, working collaboratively with Members, services across the council, partners and stakeholders, to deliver the council's objectives and priorities.

Work in a corporate and collaborative way with the Senior and Corporate Management Teams, Trade Unions and other senior managers across the council and work as part of the directorate and departmental Senior Leadership teams, to contribute to departmental priorities and initiatives. Drive positive cultural change, embodying and promoting the values and behaviours of the council and empowering everyone in your team to reach their full potential. Ensure that the performance and development framework is effective for all staff.

Lead on and ensure the effective implementation of corporate initiatives and transformation programmes that cut across the whole or part of the council's activities. Act as an ambassador for the entire area by promoting a positive image and raising the profile of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. About you

  • Degree educated in relevant discipline (Business Management/ Communications/ HR)
  • Exceptional communications skills
  • Experience of leading complex organisation wide projects
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

What you'll do

  • Lead and oversee organisational change initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business goals.
  • Develop and implement change management plans, including communication strategies, training programs, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive change initiatives, facilitate decision-making processes, and manage resistance.
  • Establish metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of change efforts and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and support to project teams and change agents to ensure successful implementation of change initiatives.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks associated with change initiatives, making adjustments to plans as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of change readiness and adaptability across the organisation through effective communication and change leadership.
